Electricians play a vital role in the Tasmanian construction industry with more than 4400 licenced in Tasmania.

Electricians are always in demand on buildings sites and doing repairs and maintenance in businesses and homes.

Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems, but you can specialise in a variety of areas such as commercial, residential, industrial or renewable energy.

When qualified and licenced, you can work with new and emerging technologies such as home and building automation; solar and battery storage; and communications and data cabling.

When you are a qualified licenced electrician, you can be employed to undertake a variety of work within the scope of your licence. Your qualification is recognised anywhere in Australia and in some countries overseas. You can travel and work at the same time!
